Chronic Pain Management & Other Benefits of Therapeutic Massage

Chronic Pain Eased By Massage Therapy - Clinical Studies Prove It

Chronic pain conditions arise due to a variety of causes. Sometimes it is from a past trauma, either recent or long-forgotten. Automobile accidents, sports injuries, slip and fall incidents, and other past trauma are just a few of the possibilities.

The resulting scarring of the soft tissues can create a tight, bound condition, which pinches nerves and causes chronic pain, numbness, tingling, or burning sensations.

'4-HAND MASSAGE', AS WELL AS TRADITIONAL MASSAGE BY ONE THERAPIST, ALSO AVAILABLE

Sometimes, chronic pain is caused by degenerative diseases, such as osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia. In these cases, the pain may not have trauma as root cause, yet may also cause chronic pain in the sufferer. Inflammatory conditions may also contribute to chronic pain.

Other chronic pain conditions such as headaches, migraines, TMJ pain, and neck aches are also often alleviated by massage therapy.

Yet Other Clinical Studies Show Massage Therapy Eases Other Symptoms

Recent studies show that massage therapy can increase circulation, alleviate stress and anxiety, dispel nausea, curtail insomnia, and lessen pain, fatigue, and depression in cancer patients, specifically.

All clients can benefit, however, and need not be suffering from cancer to experience these positive effects.

Only a generation or so ago, to claim that massage therapy can help such a wide variety of symptoms and conditions would have been considered an overzealous notion. Today, we are learning that these ancient and modern healing techniques actually provide the benefits long associated with such techniques.
